V&Aミュージアムのジュエリー室のイメージ、今回は17世紀ジュエリーを。

16世紀前半の、スペイン製のペンダント。
これもギリシャ語で
ジーザスIHΣΟΥΣ (Jesus)の略語IHSモノグラムが、
クオーツのハート型の下に収められている。

Reliquary Cross, Probably Italy, 1600-25
聖遺物の収められた、クオーツのクロスは、
17世紀のイタリア製と思われる。

17世紀中頃のフランス製。
エッケ・ホモのシーンを中心に、
キリストの受難をエナメルで描いたパネルの十字架。

フランス製17世紀中頃の、ボディス飾り。
ボディスは、女性用の胴衣で、
その胸元中心を飾るためのジュエリー。
裏に縦型のフックがついているか、
ブローチ式にピンが付いている。
＜こんな風に＞して使われた。

17世紀初期のプラハ製と思われるロケット。
中に油彩のミニアチュアが収められているそう。
17世紀に入ると、ストーンカットの技術が向上した・・・
結果だと思うけれど、
ジュエリーに使用されるカット石の量が大幅に増える。
この後、カット石多様のジュエリーが色々出てくるけれど、
これはその先駆け的なデザイン。

エナメル着彩から、カット石へ、
トレンドの過渡期的なデザイン。

17世紀前半スペイン製、
アメジストのペンダントバッジには、
サンティアゴ騎士団の章がついている。

17世紀初期のイギリス製と思われるクロスペンダント。
これもその過渡期的なイメージ。

17世紀中頃のフランス製ペンダント。
祭壇にひざまずく天使たち。

17世紀後半のフランス製、
十字架を運ぶキリストのシーンが、
ミニアチュアレリーフにエナメル着彩で描かれている。

The Penruddocke Jewel and The Helyer Jewel,
England, 17c
17世紀イギリス製のペンダント。
大きなカボション石と裏側にエナメルで、
メッセージが秘められている。

The Penruddocke Jewelって記録してきたのだけれど、
どこを探してもウラ情報が出てこないので、
多分スペルミスしたかも・・・？

The Helyer Jewel, England, 1650-70
16世紀中頃イングランド製の
The Helyer Jewelと呼ばれるペンダントは、
ピューリタン革命で処刑された、
チャールズ1世のミニアチュアが、
裏面のロケットの中に隠されている。
カソリックの王党派が忠誠の証に、
身につけていたものかと。

17世紀初期のドイツ製のペンダント。
典型的なルネッサンス・ジュエリーのデザイン。

17世紀初頭のスペイン製ペンダント。
Immaculate Conception（無原罪の御宿り）
の聖母を描いている。
図像学的にはImmaculate Conceptionと称される場合、
ブルーのマントを纏って、後光のような放射状ビームを
背景に描かれる事が多い。＜こんな感じ＞

17世紀中頃のスペイン製ペンダント。
同じく無原罪の御宿りの聖母をテーマにしたもの。

17世紀後半のエメラルドカボションの
クロスペンダント。

このデザインがすきすぎて、
リプロを作ってみたりした（笑）。
ただし、オリジナルは6x4.5cmサイズのものだけれど、
私が作ると、入手できる石のサイズに準じて、
9x8cmと、かなり大きなものになってしまった。
知人のオーダーで、The Helyer Jewelも、
表の見た目だけ、コピーしたものも一緒に。

石はすべてダイヤモンド。

ここではアメジストが使われている。

17世紀中頃の中央ヨーロッパ製
ロケットペンダント。
エナメルもふんだんに使うデザインが、
ハンガリーっぽい感じがするな・・・。

ボディス・ブローチ。
ガーネットとダイヤモンドが使われている。

17世紀後半スペイン製のペンダント。
エメラルドとダイヤが使われている。
南米産のエメラルドを豊富に入手したので、
スペイン製のジュエリーには、
エメラルドが多用されていることが多い。

次回は、もう一世紀下って、1８世紀のジュエリーを。
